Our Community Groups exist as a place to develop relationships, build community and provide growth opportunities for individuals or families in their spiritual journey. We were never meant to take this journey alone and Community Groups allow us to walk alongside each other. Whether you are reading through a Bible Study together, serving with one of our Outreach Partners, or sharing a common interest, our Community Groups are the place where life change happens.
1. Why should I join a Community Group?
Community Groups have one, simple purpose: to bring people together. It can be more challenging to really connect to individuals at a large service on Sundays. Community groups exist so that we each have a place to belong and build up one another in a smaller setting. Community groups are a great place to learn from others, grow in your spiritual journey, and encourage one another.
2. What happens at a Community Group?
A Community Group can be anything from friends having lunch together, to people studying a book or topic, or even an activity based around a common interest. By participating in a Community Group, you can expect to engage in life-giving conversation and encourage one another in prayer. At its core, Community Groups are all about doing life together.
3. Can we bring our kids with us?
Childcare will vary from group to group. Each group has the liberty to decide how they want to plan for childcare needs.
4. What times and places do community groups meet?
Community Groups meet in places like homes, parks, restaurants, and coffee shops. The leader of the group selects a meeting spot that best fits the purpose of the group. Most of our groups meet in the evenings and will last 1-2 hours in length. However, groups may opt to meet in the mornings or midday.
5. What if I have to miss a week?
We encourage you to attend every time your group meets. However, we also understand that sometimes schedules just won’t allow it. Should you miss a week, a great way to stay connected is to try and find an opportunity to meet with another group member outside of your regular meeting time.
6. What if I don’t know anything about the Bible?
Then you are in the right place. Our groups consist of people in all different stages of their walk with the Lord. Community Groups are a safe and inviting place to learn and grow.
7. Will I be expected to stay in a group “forever”?
We want you to be a part of a group that is the best fit for you and sometimes this can take a couple of tries. However, when you do find that right fit, we encourage you to build healthy, lasting relationships.
